Renal Cyst May Cause Harm To Your Health Without Caring In Time

2018-10-02 11:45

To most kidney cyst patients their condition is hard to be diagnosed in the early time, but with the popularization of physical examination and the extensive application of B-ultrasound and CT, the detection rate of renal cyst disease has been significantly improved, and it has become a clinically common kidney disease. Some kidney tumors (such as cystic kidney cancer) may have a cystic structure due to the formation of necrosis and cavities inside the tumor, which should be differentiated from renal cysts. Renal cysts are mostly congenital, and a few are acquired or uncharacterized.

Can kidney cyst be cured? At present, the etiology of renal cyst is not clear to the medical community. The vast majority of patients are adults and are rare among children. Men outnumber women. With the growth of age, the incidence rate gradually increases. About 50 % of people over 50 years old have one or more simple renal cysts, and the prevalence rate of people over 70 years old is as high as 90 %. The small simple renal cyst grows slowly, has little influence on renal function, and has little chance of malignant transformation. It only needs regular observation. For simple renal cysts larger than 4 cm in diameter, cysts with rapid enlargement, or cysts with suspected malignant changes, they should be treated in a timely manner.

Renal cysts are usually asymptomatic and are often discovered by chance during medical examinations or other imaging examinations. However, some very large renal cysts, especially those with intra-cystic hemorrhage or infection, will obviously cause pain and discomfort in the waist and abdomen. Some renal cysts happen to compress the neck of ureters or calyces, causing hydronephrosis and secondary infection, followed by lumbago, fever, and urinary tract infection.

Some simple renal cysts may have cystic wall canceration. The canceration rate is about 1 %. One should be alert to the possibility of canceration when there is hemorrhage in the cyst.
